"What makes Signs and Epigrams compelling for intrepid listeners is the density of Courvoisier's constructions, the audacious ways she exploits her materials, and the utter ferocity of her performances." - Blair Sanderson, AllMusic
Swiss born composer/ improviser Sylvie Courvoisier is one of the most creative and imaginative pianists in new music. A frequent collaborator of Mark Feldman, Ikue Mori and Fred Frith, she is a member of Mephista and the leader of her own quintet and the trio Abaton. Here she is featured solo, focusing her unique language of extended techniques into a remarkable new classical chamber music. Mystical, moody and beautiful.

There are so many reasons to love the work of William Parker and those he chooses to play with, and here it's not only his virtuosity on display, but his gracious heart and the bounty of talent accompanying him to fulfill this work of melody, soul, and poetry executed with precision and grace. Another masterstroke from the master. Why would it be any other way? ps0m
